More Good Times

The Man in the Kite Hat Speaks
In May we received 6 inches of rain in Provo, about 230% of our average.  It's been downright depressing having so little sunshine, but I must admit there have been a lot of good things come along with the rain -- but always on sunny days!  In my last post I wrote about Scott's graduation.  A week later, John and I attended the graduation of our favorite son-in-law (he's the only one we've got, but whose counting?)  Corey earned his AA degree from Provo College in Criminal Justice.  He did such a great job, he was asked to speak at graduation.  Max was so proud to see his dad up in front speaking, and he was rather impressed with the "kite" Corey got to wear on his head too.  Next step:  Police Academy in the fall.

The Class of 2011

I haven't written on my blog for some time so I haven't told you that Corey is not the only graduate from the class of 2011 -- Katie started things off in December 2010 when she finished her Nurse Practitioner Program.  Now it's Katie "RN NP NICU."  Even though she finished in 2010, I sort of think of it as happening this year since this year is the one she got her license, etc.  She's working at Primary Children's Hospital as well as Intermountain Medical Center.  When Katie was born (in the last century) her mom worked at Primary Children's Medical Center in the lab.  It's a family thing.

Heidi & Emma
June 2, 2011 was a special day because we were able to welcome our fourth grandchild:  Emma Louise.  Here's a picture of Emma and her mom.   We found them in a special birthing suite where Emma made her debut, and Heidi will stay until they go home.  Dr. Gordon was the doctor for both Meghan and Claire, but he passed away recently so his partner, Dr. Judd delivered little Emma.  Heidi was in Dr. Gordon's favorite room and there's a picture and a sign commemorating him.

Grandpa John & Emma
This was taken when Emma was only about three hours old.  Hadn't even had her first bath yet.  Underneath that cute stocking hat is some strawberry blond hair.  Another redhead!  We are delighted of course.  And Emma's sisters are delighted and anxious to bring her home.

First Bath -- What a Sweetheart!

Gotta show the proud dad.  Heidi commented that Emma doesn't have much hair.  Scott said he doesn't have much hair either.  We wonder if Scott's giving up his hair so his girls have some?
